  • No, you are more than welcome to make an appointment privately. The benefit of a referral may be that a rebate is possible., (i.e. under a Mental Health Care Plan). Please discuss options with your GP, Psychiatrist, Paediatrician, or your Private Health Fund.

  • Yes, we do accept and can process these rebates, however, we are unable to tell you what the benefit amount would be. This is because it is dependent on your provider and level of cover etc. We encourage you to contact your Private Health provider and discuss with them your options.

  • Yes, we do! COVID has prepared us well to deliver services this way. You do have to be in Australia though!

  • If it is a child who is named on the Mental Health Care Plan, then under Medicare policy, they must attend the appointment also, with the exception of up to two sessions per calendar year. Please consider the likely topics of conversation, and assess the need for a secondary caregiver to supervise them outside of the office space during this time.

  • Unfortunately, Medicare is designed in a way that means full payment is required first, with the rebate being processed afterwards.

  • Luckily, families across Australia are all eligible for the safety net under Medicare. This means that once a certain out of pocket amount has been paid by a family, Medicare automatically applies the higher rebate. Please visit the Medicare website for more information.

  • We understand that life can be tricky and the need for advice feels like it can’t wait. Unfortunately, our clinicians are unable to answer these enquiries. If you feel that there’s information that is important to share with the clinician before the next appointment, please complete the form provided in the email appointment reminder. This information goes directly to your clinician. Please only respond with information pertaining to the client specified in the appointment reminder email (i.e., separate for siblings) in order to maintain confidentiality.

  • No. These services are best provided by a forensic psychologist who have the necessary training and expertise to deliver these services.

  • It is true that psychologists assist those with mental health conditions, but did you know that this is just one part of what we do? It is a common misconception that we just deliver therapy under Medicare!

    Psychologists train extensively (including post-graduation!) on how to support individuals meet their full potential - ALL PEOPLE. This includes, but not limited to, skills training, supporting positive life transitions, increasing motivation, supporting parents in understanding their child, parenting skill support, and supporting individual’s activities of daily living development.

    Perhaps most importantly, we strongly believe that prevention is better than a cure! So, supporting the emotional regulation and skill development of children and their parents, therefore can re-divert the instance of mental health concerns developing.
