About Joelle (She/Her)

Joelle is an endorsed Educational and Developmental Psychologist who specialises in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Joelle believes that the therapeutic relationship is a fundamental part of therapy, and she is dedicated to providing a non-judgemental and safe space where her clients feel listened to, understood, and supported. Joelle is passionate about empowering children and young people, and believes in the importance of recognising each client's unique strengths. Joelle enjoys working collaboratively with her clients using evidence-based practice to tailor interventions to each client's needs and goals.

Individual Support

Joelle has experience in supporting clients with a range of presentations including, but not limited to:

  • Anxiety

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

  • Autism

  • Behavioural difficulties

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Low self-esteem/confidence

  • Parenting support

  • School avoidance

  • Trauma

Joelle works with her dog, Sawyer, who is an accredited therapy dog. Sawyer is a wonderfully calm and gentle natured dog who does an amazing job of helping Joelle's clients feel more comfortable in sessions. Sawyer is known to spend most therapy sessions snoozing (and sometimes snoring!) on his bed. While Sawyer loves coming into the clinic, he also enjoys his time relaxing at home and exploring the garden, so we can’t guarantee that he will always be on duty when Joelle is in clinic.

  • Autism

  • Cognitive functioning (including giftedness)

  • Specific Learning Disorder (for example, Dyslexia)
